SUNKYE connectors are widely utilized in sealed packages due to the exceptional performance of Kovar alloy. In military electronics, enclosures can suffer electrical failure due to moisture ingress. To prevent this, SUNKYE engineers use Kovar alloy (4J29 & 4J50), an iron-nickel alloy, in designing enclosures that resist moisture and condensation.
Kovar Alloy: Low Thermal Expansion for Stability
Kovar alloy boasts an extremely low thermal expansion coefficient, closely matching that of most glass materials. This characteristic ensures dimensional stability in fluctuating temperatures, making Kovar an ideal material for high-precision electronic components like vacuum tubes, semiconductor devices, and capacitors.
Kovar Alloy: Exceptional Mechanical Properties
With high strength and hardness, Kovar alloy is perfect for manufacturing precision instruments and equipment. It also offers excellent toughness and tensile strength, allowing it to withstand shocks and vibrations, making it suitable for use in demanding environments.
Kovar Alloy: Corrosion Resistance
Kovar alloy exhibits strong corrosion resistance to water and various chemicals, making it highly reliable in corrosive environments. This property enhances its durability and longevity in harsh conditions.
Kovar Alloy: Ease of Processing
Kovar alloy is highly workable and can be processed using various methods, including forging, hot rolling, cold rolling, and welding. Its adaptability makes it ideal for manufacturing complex parts and components, simplifying production processes.
SUNKYE’s MIL-DTL-83513 Micro-D R04J glass-sintered sealing connectors are specifically designed for high-pressure and low-leakage applications. The use of Kovar alloy in the connector shells allows for a robust chemical bond with the glass insulator, ensuring optimal hermeticity. After firing the glass insulator, the shells are gold-plated to enhance corrosion resistance, while the contacts are also gold-plated to deliver superior electrical conductivity.
SUNKYE Connectors Features:
• Socket Range: Available with a minimum of 9 sockets, up to 51 sockets, in 2 or 3-row solder cup terminations.
