The RJ45 connector is a type of information socket (i.e., communication outlet) connector in a wiring system. The connector consists of a plug (a connector and a crystal head) and a socket (module). RJ is the abbreviation for Registered Jack. In the FCC(standards and regulations of Federal Communications Commission), RJ describes the interface of public telecommunications networks, and the RJ45 connector for computer networks is the common name for the standard 8-bit modular interface.
The RJ45 connector is composed of a plug and a socket. The connector composed of these two components is connected between the wires to achieve the electrical continuity of wires. The modular jack is the core of the RJ45 connector. Gold-plated wires or socket holes can maintain a stable and reliable electrical connection with the modular socket leaf spring. The electrical contact will be further enhanced with the insertion of the plug due to the friction between the leaf spring and the jack.

The connector composed of these two components is connected between the wires to achieve the electrical continuity of wires. It is also a constituent part of the finished jumper in the comprehensive wiring technology. The RJ45 modular plug is usually connected to the ends of the paired cable. This accessory product is usually not listed separately in the specification of the integrated wiring design and installation, that is, users are not encouraged to connect the twisted pair to the RJ45 plug by themselves.
The performance indexes of RJ45 also include attenuation, near-end cross-talk, insertion loss, return loss, and far-end cross-talk, etc. The technical description of RJ45 performance: When the contact resistance is 2.5mΩ, the insulation resistance is 1000mΩ, and the dielectric strength is DC1000V (AC700V), there will be no breakdown and flashover phenomena in one minutes, gold or silver can be plated on the connection reed surface, the connection diameter is from 0.4mm to 0.6mm, the repeated insertion and extraction frequency of the plug and socket is not less than 750 times, and the 8 line contact pin can be plated with gold 509 (inch).
The crosstalk is an important factor to be considered in the design among these performance requirements. In order to obtain a better transmission performance in the entire link, the vectoring technology is often used in sockets to offset the crosstalk by producing a crosstalk signal of the same magnitude and the opposite polarity as that introduced from the plug. If the crosstalk introduced by a modular plug is represented by "++++", the opposite crosstalk produced by the socket is represented by "----". When the magnitude of two crosstalk signals is equal and the polarity is opposite, the total coupled crosstalk interference signal is zero.
