The Basic Structure of the Connector

It is the core part of the connector to complete the electrical connection function. Generally, a contact pair is composed of a positive contact piece and a negative contact piece, and the electrical connection is completed through the insertion of the female and male contact pieces.
The male contact is a rigid part, and its shape is cylindrical (round pin), square column (square pin) or flat (pin). Positive contacts are generally made of brass and phosphor bronze.
The female contact, that is, the socket, is the key part of the contact pair. It depends on the elastic structure to deform elastically when it is inserted into the pin and generates elastic force to form close contact with the male contact to complete the connection. There are many types of jack structures, such as cylindrical type (slotted and narrowed), tuning fork type, cantilever beam (longitudinal slot), folded type (longitudinal slot, 9-shaped), box shape (square jack) And the hyperboloid wire spring jack and so on.
Insulators are also commonly called bases or inserts. Their function is to arrange the contacts in the required position and spacing, and to ensure the insulation performance between the contacts and between the contacts and the housing. Good insulation resistance, voltage resistance and ease of processing are the basic requirements for the selection of insulating materials for processing into insulators.
It is also called the shell, which is the outer cover of the connector. It provides mechanical protection for the built-in insulating mounting plate and pins, and provides alignment when the plug and socket are mated, and then fixes the connector to the device.
The accessories are divided into structural accessories and installation accessories. Structural accessories such as collars, positioning keys, positioning pins, guide pins, coupling rings, cable clamps, sealing rings, gaskets, etc. Install accessories such as screws, nuts, screws, spring coils, etc. Most of the accessories have standard parts and universal parts.
