Diagnostic imaging equipment enables physicians to obtain digital images of structures inside the body in a non-invasive procedure. These images can identify potential abnormalities behind skin, tissue, and bones to guide treatment decisions. Typical applications include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), X-rays, ultrasounds, endoscopy, tactile imaging, and computerized tomography (CT scan).
Compared with other medical imaging equipment, MRI provides several benefits and is increasingly encouraging new medical developments ranging from new and improved MRI technologies, such as magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) equipment, cardiac MRI (CMRI) equipment.
MRI equipment is getting more strength as trends toward specialization in modern medical devices extend to the diagnostics.
To obtain reliable and consistent high-quality 2D/3D images, MRI equipment depends on imaging systems that include multiple sensors and connectivity solutions for various frequencies, such as miniature connectors and cables. Keeping MRI signal and transmission stable to obtain images of the body is essential for these imaging systems.
Generally, an integral part of MRI equipment interconnects, including cables and connectors, are keeping pace with the rapid MedTech development. Miniature, robust and extremely durable! These are the qualities of the Micro-D connectors developed by Sunkye International. These miniature connectors are designed for devices that rely on imaging systems when operating. It is the case, for example, for MRI where the body information acquired is converted into reliable images through the signal integrity of the imaging system.
Sunkye Micro-D connectors feature polarized shell, micro-miniature, rectangular electrical connectors with solder or non-removable crimp contacts. Performance with high current capability, low contact resistance, high dielectric strength, and excellent resistance to shock and vibration, which meet the requirements of MRI imaging systems for data transmission stability and reliability, allowing doctors to better assess patients' bones, organs, tissues, and blood vessels through non-invasive means.
Micro-D connectors are half the size of the widely used D-Sub connector. Despite their miniature size, they are also solute to medical applications where an enclosure needs to be fully sealed from the outside world. All connectors in the range, designed under the MIL-DTL-83513 standard, use the highly reliable Twist Pin technology.
