Analysis of Sealing Materials of HTHP Connectors in the petroleum industry

Sunkye petroleum & gas series connectors feature excellent hermetic sealing with materials of ceramic, glass, and rubber, and also can withstand high temperature and high-pressure environments.

In the energy industry and the nuclear field, many working environments involving high temperature and high pressure are involved, such as logging tools in underground oil drilling equipment. Many kinds of liquids need to be controlled in the petrochemical and natural gas industry, such as aromatic hydrocarbons, rust inhibitors, acid gases, drilling fluids, seawater, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, etc. And these media are often mixed and have the characteristics of high temperature and high pressure.

To ensure the reliable operation of electronic equipment, a sealed container must be provided to separate the high-temperature and high pressure environment, and a sealed connector should be installed on the container partition wall to electrically connect with the ground electronic equipment. Among the current sealed connectors, glass and ceramic sintered connectors are typical products.

Sunkye high-temperature and high-pressure connectors adopt glass sintering technology, and the materials include high-temperature alloy shells or high-temperature alloy and fluororubber shells, alloy contacts, ceramics, and glass and rubber insulators. The materials ensure the normal operation of petroleum industry equipment in high temperatures of 200°C and 172.5Mpa high-pressure environment. Why do these materials make connectors features sealing properties?

High reliability of glass sealing. For most applications, there is little degradation and the high seal can last for years or decades. Glass sintering sealed connectors can withstand high differential pressures and high temperatures, and are also physically robust.

Ceramic sealing realizes the sealing performance of the connector, and the high dielectric strength of the ceramic can improve the high-temperature resistance of the connector. Generally, the socket uses ceramic sealing to ensure the sealing performance of the connector, and also improve the withstand voltage performance. The ceramic glass seal of the connector can seal the static spark of 3000V.

Sunkye high-temperature and high-pressure sealed connectors use ceramics as insulating materials, match with metal shells and central conductors through mechanical structures, and form a sealed structure to withstand pressure inside the connector through glass sintering, to achieve the performance of connector's temperature and pressure.
