Four Processes of Producing Connectors

Connectors are used in many parts of life. Electronic devices such as automobiles and computers are essential choices for connectors. Connections between wires, cables, printed circuit boards and electronic components can be realized by means of connectors. Combo connector products can reliably transmit data, power and signals in the harshest environments and in the most extreme use cases.

The manufacturing process of connectors is basically the same, which can be divided into four manufacturing processes: Stamping, PlaTIng, Molding and Assembly.

Stamping is to produce electronic connector (pin) by stamping thin metal strip by means of large high-speed stamping machine.

PlaTIng means that the connector pin should be sent to the plating stage after stamping.

Molding: The plastic box seat of the electronic connector is made by injecting molten plastic into the metal membrane and then it is rapidly cooling.

Assembly is the last stage of connector manufacturing, that is, the assembly of electroplated pins and injection box sockets.

In the manufacturing process of connectors, besides ensuring the quality of products, we should also pay attention to safety.
